Troop 224!!!
BSA Troop 224

Our Troop is located in Hyattsville, Maryland and is part of the National Capital Area Council, Prince George's District, in beautiful Prince Georges County, Maryland, just east of Washington, DC. Troop 224 was established in 1948 to provide the young men of our community the opportunity to enjoy the goals of Scouting. St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Hyattsville, has been the Troop's sponsor since the Troop was founded.
National Capital Area Scouts
Boy Scouts in Troop 224 meet every week for a Troop meeting, go camping or hiking almost every month throught out the year, and go to summer camp in July. Scouts in Troop 224 learn life skills such as cooking, fire building, knot tying, and map reading. Through hands-on activities, they learn essential camping skills, map & compass use, and how to quickly start a fire without any matches at all. Scouts are encouraged to move through the ranks: Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. They also earn Merit Badges which provide them with the opportunity to have fun, learn new things, improve themselves mentally, and to develop social and personal skills. Boy Scouts in Troop 224 range from ages 11 to 18. Younger boys are encouraged to join Cub Scouts in Pack 224 which is also sponsored by St. Jeromes Church in Hyattsville.
